Indigenous Advisory Council

This Council provides culturally-relevant leadership and guidance to the CIF on matters such as strategic direction, community outreach plans, as well as research and ethics protocols. The Council comprises up to seven Indigenous scholars and thought leaders from across Canada where we have or are building partnerships. At this time, this includes representatives from the broad geographic regions of the East Coast, Great Lakes, Prairies, and West Coast, in addition to two standing positions for representatives from the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and Syilx (Okanagan) Nations where UBC’s campuses are located (UBC-Vancouver and UBC-Okanagan, respectively). One position is held for an Indigenous faculty member at UBC from outside the CIF.
