Kil Hltaanuwaay Tayler Brown

Kil Hltaanuwaay Tayler Brown is of X̲aayda Haida (K̲ayahl 'Laanas), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm Musqueam, and mixed settler ancestry. She grew up on xʷməθkʷəy̓əm Musqueam and scəw̓aθən məsteyəxʷ Tsawwassen territories and moved X̲aayda Gwaay.yaay Haida Gwaii in 2019.
Tayler began working with the Council of the Haida Nation’s Marine Planning Program, at first as an intern while completing her Bachelor of Environment at Simon Fraser University, and previously a student of Governance & Relationality in Indigenous Fisheries (formerly Co-Creating Aquatic Science). Currently, she is a Project Manager for the CHN's Marine Planning Program supporting the establishment and implementation of marine protected areas in Haida territories.
In her free time, Tayler loves to be outside with her dog Sgaawsid (Potato), reading, and learning to weave.
