Amanda Stoneman

Born into the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Amanda grew up on Sugar Island, Michigan. She began her fisheries research career with a two season internship with the Nature Conservancy on the Northern Lake Huron Bioreserve Project while finishing a BS in Fisheries Science and Limnology at Michigan State University. This was shortly followed by the start of her 20+ year career at the Sault Tribe Natural Resources Fisheries Management Program (formerly Inter-Tribal Fisheries Assessment Program). She is now working in education. She currently resides in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan with her husband and Newfoundland.
